Some Music

The mid-1970s saw me be a semi-professional bass guitarist, freelancing part-time with various Delhi bands through the period when I was studying Journalism.
The mid-1990s saw me get back to music primarily because I sort of wanted to pass that on to my son before he reached adolescence.

And then, I got even deeper into music as I began to network artists and musicians all over India and the world, in response to what I recognized to be a viral spread of creative empowerment of individuals being wrought by the burgeoning spread of personal computers and other digital technologies everywhere around the world.

Since then, my music has been variously featured in creative video-works, arts festivals, and the internet. And I also performed live a few times too, the last presently being in the last edition of Disquiet@Bakheda, in New Delhi 2015. However, after suffering a stroke early-2016, which left me paralyzed down my left side for almost 2 months, I am yet to recover full functioning of the fingers of my left hand, which leaves my guitar playing unacceptably compromised for now.

As with many of my other creative works, my music archives too are scattered and incomplete.
As such, the short set-list of tracks on the right is a somewhat random selection intended to represent mainly just the irregular variety of my music work.

*The 4 videos below are, in turn, - respectively, - from a presentation in 2024, followed by two experimental live performances, and finally, a video-art piece made by Tibor Kovacs-Egri, on a choreographer friend of his, for which he used a music composition of mine,.. with a few seconds of  it's tail inexplicably cut off.

above: a presentation I delivered in India International Centre January 2024, within the framework of their "Music Appreciation Promotion" (MAP) series. The presentation includes 7 fast videos collated and edited by me, within it.

above: from when I performed live audio, using Pure Data, for an extemporaneously collaborative experimental dance by Olive Lopez, with Shazeb Shaikh doing live video, in Edgelogue, a variegated incident I curated within the framework of the Delhi International Arts Festival (DIAF 2011). The venue was Alliance Francaise de Delhi.
